I have a WordPress site (multisite) which hosted on Webhostinghub (Spark plan) for about 5 years. I didn’t like that often my site has problems with server response time. I talked with a representative from Webhostinghub and he said that it kind of limit of performance for WP. He added that I can go to inmotionhosting (their daugher company?) because the company is more adapted for WP.
Instead of this, after couple weeks of searching I tried use SiteGround.
– I created a copy of my site on SiteGround
– I use same plugins on both sites
Webhostinghub: Page Speed Grade 88.33% Yslow 84.5 Fully load 2.22
SiteGround: Page Speed Grade 82.4% Yslow 86.8 Fully load 1.28
SiteGround also uses their special 3 level of cache but one important component – their Dynamic cache doesn’t work with multisite. I did not find a difference by using Memchase, so both sites still use SuperCache plugin.
What I missed?
May be my .htaccess must be different because webhostinghub based on Apache and SiteGround uses nginx?
Any suggestions, help or thoughts are welcome.
P.S. Both providers have same percent of stupid representatives in their tech support
